Muscat Bigbus

    vielleicht ist das für einige von euch auch interessant folgende Info habe ich zum Bigbus in Muscat bekommen

    Yes, we are having the tours every day, since the 9th of December 2012. We do operate ever day of the year.

    Below is the summary of our tour.

    Big Bus Tours is a hop on hop off sightseeing tour of Muscat using an open top double decker bus.

    The city tour starts from Muttrah Souk at 9am and buses depart every 30 minutes up until 5pm returning at Muttrah Souk at 7pm. We have 12 stops across the city. We stop at each Big Bus stop for no more than 2 minutes allowing passengers sufficient time to disembark or board the bus. These Big Bus Stops are:

    1. Muttrah Souk
    2. Churches and Temple (Ruwi)
    3. AL Shatti (Car park area)
    4. Qurum Beach
    5. Qurum National Park
    6. Central Business District (CBD)
    7. Parliament
    8. Marina Views
    9. Al Alam Royal Palace
    10. Bayt Al Zubair
    11. Portuguese Fort
    12. Muttrah Corniche

    The tour will take 2 hours, however you have the option of hopping off and on at each big Bus stop exploring each attraction and places of interest enabling you to explore the city at your convenience. Depending on how much time you wish to explore each stop it can take a whole day or more.

    Your ticket is valid for 24 hours within operating hours from 8am to 7pm.

    FREE Shuttle to Sultan Grand Mosque departs Muttrah Souk (Big Bus Passengers only) at 8am on a 1 hourly schedule and returns passengers to Muttrah Souk. The Mosque shuttle service operates only during Mosque visiting times in the morning.

    Ich denke auch wir werden die Taxivariante nehmen.
    Ich wollte nur die Info weitergeben, da es schon Diskussionen gab ob es diesen Bus nun in Muscat überhaupt gibt oder nicht.
    Es gibt ihn also seit kurzem ;0)

    Nachdem wir jetzt von der Tour zurück sind, kann ich auch nur sagen die Big Bus Tour war in Dubai und Abu Dhabi klasse, aber in Muscat haben wir die nicht gemacht. Das klappte so prima, der kostenlose Shuttle vom Schiff zum Hafenausgang.
    Dann sind wir entlang der Strandpromenade bis zum Sultanspalast gelaufen. Dort sind wir dann in ein Taxi gestiegen, erst zum Souk gefahren da der über Mittag zu hatte und dann raus zur Moschee, der Taxifahrer hat gewartet und noch einige Strandhotels u.a. das Crowne Plaza auf dem Rückweg gezeigt und uns wieder zum Hafeneingang zurück gebracht. Wir haben ihm 40 € und das war für uns absolut o.k. und er hat sich auch gefreut :)
